Following the Dallas Cowboys’ Wild Card loss to the Green Bay Packers, Jesse Holley and Jeff Cavanaugh of the Bleav in Dallas Cowboys podcast discussed what’s next for America’s Team. Jesse Holley, a former Dallas Cowboy himself, initiated the conversation by relating his personal account of leaving Dallas to join the New England Patriots. His observations provide context for why it might not be as simple as it might seem for Bill Belichick to become the head coach of the Cowboys.Holley started off by drawing comparisons between his experiences with the Cowboys and the football culture in New England.                                                                                                                                   He found a no-nonsense mentality in New England, where the emphasis was all on football and the flash and glamour came second. The renowned head coach of the Patriots, Bill Belichick, personifies this mindset by stressing an unwavering commitment to the game.Jesse, though, had doubts about whether this strategy would be effective in Dallas. He admitted that although it would make sense in principle, the Cowboys’ structure might not be a good fit for it in practice. According to Holley, Dallas players have specific demands of their coach, one of which is that the coach be aware of the players’ hobbies and personalities outside of football.
