Football Insider has been informed by sources that Michael Olise’s hamstring injury worsened during Saturday’s 4-1 loss to Brighton, leaving Crystal Palace officials incensed.

High-ranking club officials believe manager Roy Hodgson and his staff brought the Palace star man, 22-year-old back into the fold too early.

Olise’s injury is thought to be causing months of missed play, which would be a severe blow to the Eagles’ season.
According to Hodgson, the player himself and the medical team told him the winger was prepared to contribute a few minutes as a substitute.

After the half, the France Under-21 international was brought on, but he had to leave a few minutes later because his hamstring problem had gotten worse.

Due to the issue, Olise was unable to play in the first 13 games of the 2023–24 season and missed three games in December and January.

Due to the 22-year-old’s recent injury, Hodgson and Palace will now have to fight to stay in the Premier League.

Prior to this most recent setback, he scored six goals and three assists in 11 Premier League outings.

With fifteen games left, Crystal Palace, in fourteenth in the table, is only five points above the bottom three.

Hodgson’s employment at Selhurst Park is questionable, which creates a context for Olise’s accident and the fallout that followed.
