The Oklahoma City Thunder will need to fill a few roster openings after the 2024 NBA trade deadline. Even though they added Gordon Hayward and Bismack Biyombo, they still have space on their roster to improve, especially in the frontcourt.

The Thunder, who now have the third-best record in the West with a 36-17 record, may want to acquire veterans who can offer leadership and depth in the center position as they investigate the buyout market. These three players could be acquired in a buyout that would strengthen the Thunder’s roster in the closing minutes.                                                    Veteran forward Marcus Morris provides invaluable experience and scoring ability. Morris may add to the Thunder’s offensive strategies with his ability to score points off the bench and stretch the floor.

Morris is a consistent three-point threat even after a brief period with the Philadelphia 76ers, where his offensive output slightly declined. He averages 6.7 points and 2.9 rebounds while shooting 43.9% from the field and an amazing 40.0% from three-point range.

Due to his ability to play a variety of positions, he is a feasible buyout target for Oklahoma City and gives the Thunder’s rotation more depth. Morris wants to make the playoffs, therefore the San Antonio Spurs are set to buy him out.
