Lu Dort of Montreal is starting to play for the Oklahoma City Thunder more like an opportunist.

Dort got nine rebounds on Sunday as Oklahoma City defeated the Sacramento Kings 127-113. This season, he is averaging 3.8 rebounds per game. Dort feels that he must seize a board at each chance that comes his way.

The six-foot-four guard remarked, “It’s not just the bigs, all of us can just go in there.” “We just need to create a rebound no matter who gets it, so whenever I can go help, or really every time.”

“We just need to get the rebound.”

In general, the Thunder perform better when he grabs those rebounds. On February 4, he scored seven points in a 135-127 double overtime victory against the Toronto Raptors

However, he had just one following a 124-117 loss to the Utah Jazz in Salt Lake City and none following a 146-111 loss to the Mavericks in Dallas.

Dort stated that a key component of head coach Mark Daigneault’s strategies is leveraging OKC’s defense, particularly its rebounds, to support its offense.

It’s enormous. After the victory over Sacramento, Dort remarked, “I think we always have an advantage whenever we play fast and in transition.” “Every time we add turnovers or rebounds, we just want to play fast and we did good.”

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, a fellow Canadian, led the Thunder to victory over the Kings. The Hamilton product continued his MVP-caliber season with 38 points, seven assists, and three rebounds.

His average is 31.1, which is second best..
