With less than three weeks until the Super League season begins, Sam Burgess has returned to the UK and is now comfortably adjusting to his role as head coach of Warrington Wolves.
The Wolves took a chance when they hired Burgess, an untested coach who has proven himself in Australia. The Wolves will open the 2024 season away against Catalans Dragons on February 17.
During his playing career, Burgess only needed 76 Super League matches to earn a shot at the NRL; the South Sydney Rabbitohs gave him that chance in the Southern Hemisphere before to the 2010 season.
