In a move aimed at bolstering their backcourt depth, the Portland Trail Blazers have inked a two-way deal with Ashton Hagans, promising young talent from the college ranks. The signing was confirmed by the franchise earlier today, marking an exciting new chapter for the promising point guard.

Hagans, a standout player during his college career at the University of Kentucky, impressed scouts with his defensive prowess and court vision. Standing at 6 feet 3 inches tall, he possesses the versatility and skill set necessary to thrive in the fast-paced environment of the NBA.

The 21-year-old guard declared for the 2020 NBA Draft after his sophomore year with the Wildcats, showcasing his potential to NBA teams. While he went undrafted, Hagans remained steadfast in pursuing his dream of playing at the highest level.

Now, with the opportunity to join the Trail Blazers organization, Hagans is eager to prove himself on the professional stage. The two-way contract affords him the chance to split time between the Trail Blazers and their G League affiliate, the Agua Caliente Clippers, allowing him to further develop his game under the guidance of experienced coaches.

Speaking on the signing, Trail Blazers President of Basketball Operations, Neil Olshey, expressed optimism about Hagans’ future with the team. “Ashton is a talented young player with a relentless work ethic,” Olshey stated. “We believe he has the potential to make a significant impact on both ends of the floor, and we’re excited to see his growth within our organization.”

Hagans joins a Trail Blazers roster brimming with talent, including All-Star guards Damian Lillard and CJ McCollum. His addition provides valuable depth and adds another dimension to the team’s backcourt rotation.

For Ashton Hagans, donning the Trail Blazers jersey represents the culmination of years of dedication and hard work. With his sights set on making an immediate impression, he is poised to seize the opportunity and carve out a lasting role with his new team.
