South Sydney Rabbitohs captain Cameron Murray and his fiancée Miranda Cross have celebrated the arrival of their first child just ahead of the NRL season’s highly anticipated kickoff in Vegas.

Their joyous announcement on social media included adorable snapshots of their newborn daughter, Avalon, born on February 13, 2024. The couple’s journey to parenthood follows Murray’s romantic proposal to Cross on a Sydney beach in 2023, culminating seven years of companionship.

In a heartfelt post, Miranda shared, “Our baby girl is here. Avalon Georgia Murray born on the 13 February 2024. We’ve had the most magical week soaking up every moment together. You are more than we could have ever dreamed of our Avy girl, perfect in every single way. A lifetime together will never be long enough.”

The Rabbitohs extended their warm wishes to the couple, hailing Avalon as the newest member of their family. Teammates, as well as rivals, took to social media to convey their congratulations to the young family, underscoring the camaraderie and support within the NRL community.

Among the well-wishers were Cody Walker, Damien Cook, and Jack Wighton from the Rabbitohs, along with players from other clubs including Reuben Cotter from the Cowboys and Josh Addo-Carr from the Bulldogs. Even AFL star Trent Cochin joined in, expressing his joy for the couple during this special time.
