Bismack Biyombo of the Oklahoma City Thunder Surprisingly Collapses on the Sidelines

During Wednesday’s NBA matchup against the Portland Trail Blazers, Bismack Biyombo, center for the Oklahoma City Thunder, collapsed while offering congratulations to teammates during a first-half timeout. Fortunately, the medical staff from the Blazers promptly attended to him, and he regained consciousness swiftly.

It’s worth noting that Biyombo was alert and able to walk off the court unassisted. Subsequently, Blazers’ medical personnel cleared him of any significant medical issues.

Mark Daigneault, the Thunder coach, reassured everyone that Biyombo’s spirits were high, as he was seen laughing and joking in the locker room during halftime. Despite his apparent recovery, the team chose to exercise caution by sidelining Biyombo for the rest of the game. They intended to keep a close watch on him and conduct further assessments.

Bismack Biyombo was the seventh overall pick in the 2011 NBA draft, initially selected by the Sacramento Kings before being traded to the Charlotte Hornets. Following a stint with the Memphis Grizzlies during the 2023-24 season, where he displayed solid performance over 30 games, he was waived on January 10, 2024. Biyombo subsequently joined the Oklahoma City Thunder on February 10, 2024, becoming his current team in the NBA.
