Leeds United may consider acquiring a Premier League defender during the upcoming transfer window to fill the void left by loanee Connor Roberts. The Whites find themselves embroiled in a tight race for promotion in the Championship, competing with Leicester City, Ipswich Town, and Southampton for two automatic promotion slots, with only three fixtures remaining in the season.

With Leeds facing Middlesbrough and Queens Park Rangers away before their final showdown against Southampton, the team has an opportunity to exert pressure on their rivals, potentially influencing the outcome of the promotion battle. A successful promotion could facilitate the permanent acquisition of loanee Joe Rodon, while rumors suggest that former midfielder Kalvin Phillips and ex-Chelsea striker Michy Batshuayi are also on Leeds’ radar.

In the January transfer window, Leeds was strongly linked with a move for West Ham United right-back Ben Johnson, engaging in discussions regarding a potential transfer. However, the club ultimately opted to secure the services of Connor Roberts from Burnley until the end of the season. Despite Roberts’ contributions, Leeds remains interested in Johnson, with recent developments suggesting ongoing pursuit of the talented defender from Elland Road.
