Tennessee, on the weekend of may 1st. He joins several other talented prospects that the Vols are hoping to impress. Linebacker Ty Jackson, edge rusher Mariyon Dye, corner Onis Konanbanny, defensive lineman Brandon Caesar, and safety Lagonza Hayward are also set to visit that weekend officially.

Tennessee Radio Hall of Fame. The announcement was made live on Nashville’s 104.5 The Zone (WGFX) by the voice of the Tennessee Titans and Vol Network alum Mike Keith. Bob has been the radio voice of University of Tennessee football, men’s basketball and the host of “Vol Calls” and UT coaches TV shows since 1999. Prior to that, he fulfilled many other network roles and was the voice of the Lady Vols basketball from 1977 until he took his current role. A multiple-year winner of the sportscaster of the year in Tennessee, he is the longest serving member in the 75-year history of the Vol Network. Tuesday’s announcement was a heartwarming turnabout, as it was Bob, a Tennessee Radio Hall of Fame board member, who surprised Mike with the news of his election into the Tennessee Radio Hall of fame just a few years ago in 2020.

“Bob Kesling has been a fixture on the radio in Tennessee for nearly 50 years. He is the longest-tenured member of the Vol Network in its history. He has been the Voice of the Vols for a quarter-century. He was the Voice of Pat Summitt’s Lady Vol teams for nearly that long. He called baseball games for the Tennessee Volunteers, the Knoxville Sox, Knoxville Blue Jays and Knoxville Smokies. He was sports director of WIVK Radio when it was the highest-rated radio station in the United States. And, oh by the way, he did sports at WBIR TV for 19 years and called football and basketball games on Jefferson-Pilot TV. Bob has also given hundreds of hours to help Boy Scout Chapters throughout East Tennessee, helped the United Way of East Tennessee raise millions of dollars, and brought awareness for Leukemia and Lymphoma Society by sharing his own experience. Bob has also helped scores of broadcasters to get into our business by giving them chances, encouragement and, at times, honest, but needed critique. But for all of this, Bob’s best quality is his unwavering loyalty. When my Dad died late last September, Bob, Steve Early and Glenn Thackston from the Vol Network drove over on Thursday of Florida week to show our family support. Bob Kesling is a Hall of Fame friend. He is a Hall of Fame person. But at this moment, it is my pleasure to tell everyone that Bob Kesling, Voice of the Vols and so much more, is a 2024 Tennessee RADIO Hall of Fame inductee.” announced by Mike Keith, voice of the Tennessee Titans.
