Tennessee center Cooper Mays revealed in a podcast he conducts through a NIL partnership on Friday that he will not participate in Senior Day festivities before the Vols’ last game of the regular season against Vanderbilt.

Mays stated on the podcast “Off the Hook” that “I’m not doing Senior Day.”

A player is usually returning for another season if they choose not to take part in the Senior Day festivities. Mays is eligible for another year.

Mays went on to add that several issues still needed to be resolved and that he was unsure if he was going to return to Tennessee.

The starting centre must decide whether to declare for the NFL Draft or to stay in the league for another season in the hopes of enhancing his draft prospects. He’ll probably make his ultimate choice public in December.
