West Virginia University has secured another transfer commitment for its football team, this time in the secondary. Kekoura Tarnue, who most recently played at Jacksonville State, has committed to the Mountaineers following an official visit to Morgantown this week.

Originally from Liberia, Tarnue moved to the United States and played high school football in Minnesota. He began his collegiate career at Rochester (MN) C.C., where he had an impressive sophomore season, recording 22 tackles, nine pass breakups, and three interceptions in just eight games.

His performance caught the attention of several smaller Division One programs, leading him to sign with Jacksonville State, where he enrolled early. Tarnue earned the starting position in the spring and had a standout 2023 season, tallying 53 tackles, four pass breakups, three interceptions, and returning a blocked punt for a touchdown.

Tarnue will join WVU later this month, bringing with him one year of eligibility remaining, with the possibility of a redshirt season.
