In the latest Auburn Tigers News, a former Auburn football linebacker has revealed his transfer destination, while a linebacker committed to Georgia plans an official visit with the Tigers.

After the announcement that former Auburn football cornerback JD Rhym is set to transfer to Houston, the Washington State football program disclosed that they have signed Wesley Steiner, a former Tigers linebacker. Steiner, a 4-star recruit from the class of 2020, spent four seasons at Auburn. With a decrease in playtime last season and the return of the Tigers’ starting linebackers in 2024, Steiner’s move to the transfer portal was expected. During his tenure at Auburn, Steiner tallied 86 total tackles and two tackles for loss. He will have one year of eligibility remaining with Washington State.

Additionally, according to On3 Sports, 4-star linebacker Jadon Perlotte, currently committed to the Georgia Bulldogs, has arranged an official visit to the Auburn football program. Perlotte, hailing from Buford High School, has been committed to Georgia since December 2022 but has kept his recruitment open. He visited Auburn for the Ole Miss game last season and has since maintained a strong relationship with Auburn football head coach Hugh Freeze. Perlotte’s official visit is scheduled for June 12, one of five official visits he will take this summer. He will also visit Alabama on May 31, followed by Miami on June 7, Tennessee on June 14, and Georgia on June 21. Despite the challenge of swaying Perlotte from in-state Georgia, his consistent visits to Auburn and vocal admiration for the Tigers suggest a potential opportunity for a commitment flip.
