The North Carolina Tar Heels are aiming for a significant recruiting coup by attempting to sway a running back recruit who is currently pledged to an SEC powerhouse. They’re taking the initial steps in this endeavor.

Bo Walker, a running back committed to Georgia since October 2023, has recently explored other options, including visits to Alabama and Georgia Tech. Now, he has plans to visit North Carolina this summer, adding an intriguing twist to his recruitment.

According to Walker’s 247Sports profile, he has a visit scheduled for Chapel Hill on June 14th, alongside visits to Georgia Tech on June 7th and Louisville on June 21st.

Despite his visits elsewhere, Walker downplayed any notions of decommitment in a recent interview after his visit to Alabama. When asked about his commitment to Georgia, he stated, “I mean really nothing… I really feel like I’m locked in with Georgia.”

Standing at 5-foot-8 and weighing 205 pounds, Walker, hailing from Ellenwood, Georgia, is a four-star recruit ranked No. 381 nationally, No. 30 among running backs, and the No. 41 player in the state of Georgia, according to 247Sports rankings.

North Carolina currently boasts a top 20 recruiting class in the 2025 cycle, with 10 commitments. Securing Walker’s commitment would enhance their class and potentially provide a successor for Omarion Hampton.
