**Liverpool, UK – June 9, 2024:** Everton Football Club has announced that Ian Woan, the Assistant Manager, has terminated his contract with immediate effect due to personal reasons. Woan, who joined the club as part of manager Sean Dyche’s backroom staff in February 2023, has decided to step down after a year and a half in the role.

Woan’s departure comes at a crucial time for Everton, as the club is in the midst of pre-season preparations for the upcoming Premier League campaign. The club has expressed its gratitude for Woan’s contributions and commitment during his tenure, noting his significant role in assisting Dyche with tactical and training responsibilities.

In a brief statement, Woan conveyed his appreciation for the opportunity to work at Everton and emphasized that his decision was driven by personal considerations. “I have thoroughly enjoyed my time at Everton and am grateful for the support of the players, staff, and fans. However, personal circumstances have led me to make this difficult decision. I wish the club all the best for the future.”

Everton is expected to begin the search for a new assistant manager immediately. In the interim, the coaching staff will be managed by existing members to ensure continuity in the club’s pre-season activities.

The club’s fans have reacted with mixed emotions, expressing both their disappointment at Woan’s departure and understanding of his personal decision. Everton’s board and managerial team are hopeful that a suitable replacement will be found swiftly to continue the positive momentum built over the past season.

For now, Everton’s focus remains on the upcoming season, aiming to build on last year’s performances and striving for success in the Premier League and domestic cups.
