Newcastle United has confirmed that assistant manager Simon Weatherstone has terminated his contract with immediate effect. The decision comes as Weatherstone cited personal reasons for his departure from the club.

Weatherstone, who has been a vital part of Newcastle’s coaching staff since joining in 2021, played a significant role in the team’s recent successes. His departure is a significant loss for the club, which has seen considerable progress under the guidance of manager Eddie Howe and his team.

In an official statement, Newcastle United expressed their gratitude for Weatherstone’s contributions: “We would like to thank Simon for his hard work, dedication, and the positive impact he has had during his time with us. We respect his decision and wish him all the best in his future endeavors.”

Simon Weatherstone also released a personal statement addressing his departure: “It has been an incredible journey with Newcastle United, and I am proud of what we have achieved together. However, after much consideration, I have decided that it is time for me to step away and focus on personal matters. I am grateful for the support from the club, the players, and the fans during my tenure.”

The club has not yet announced a replacement for Weatherstone, but they have assured fans that the search for a new assistant manager will commence immediately.

Newcastle United continues to prepare for the upcoming Premier League season, aiming to build on their recent achievements and maintain their competitive edge.
