**Arlington, TX** – The Texas Rangers have announced the termination of Head Coach Corey Ragsdale’s contract, effective immediately. The decision comes amid ongoing challenges and disappointing performances throughout the season.

Ragsdale, who took the helm in 2023, faced a series of setbacks that included a string of losses and internal disagreements over team strategies and player management. The team’s current standing has sparked concerns among fans and the franchise’s leadership, prompting the organization to seek new direction and leadership.

In a statement, the Texas Rangers’ General Manager, Chris Young, expressed gratitude for Ragsdale’s contributions but emphasized the need for a change. “We appreciate Corey’s dedication and hard work over the past year. However, after careful consideration, we believe it is in the best interest of the team to move forward with new leadership to better position ourselves for future success.”

Assistant Coach Don Wakamatsu has been named interim head coach while the search for a permanent replacement begins. The Rangers’ management has assured fans that they are committed to finding a leader who can reinvigorate the team’s performance and lead them to greater achievements.

Corey Ragsdale’s departure marks a significant turning point for the Rangers as they navigate through the season’s remaining challenges. The team and its supporters now look ahead with hope for a revitalized strategy and renewed vigor on the field.
