Leeds United journalist Conor McGilligan has suggested that Leeds are open to negotiating with Tottenham Hotspur over the sale of Archie Gray, but only if a swap deal is involved, excluding Joe Rodon. McGilligan notes that Leeds manager Daniel Farke is interested in versatile midfielder Oliver Skipp, who played a limited role for Spurs last season, starting just five games. The 23-year-old, valued by Spurs at around £15m, is a defensive midfielder known for breaking up play and winning the ball, much like Ilia Gruev, for whom Leeds have already turned down offers.

Given Skipp’s valuation, Leeds could gain at least £20m from the deal. Skipp, who emerged from Spurs’ academy and has represented England at various youth levels, was expected to have a breakthrough season but it did not happen. Leeds prefer to sell players before making significant purchases this summer, but the lack of solid interest in Willy Gnonto and Crysencio Summerville might compel them to sell their 18-year-old talent, Gray.

McGilligan also mentioned that Leeds’ interest in Joe Rodon has waned due to his £12m – £15m price tag and interest from recently promoted Premier League clubs.

Leeds might renew their interest in Max Aarons following his difficult season at Bournemouth. The 24-year-old, who previously played under Farke at Norwich, nearly joined Leeds last August but chose Bournemouth at the last moment. After a disappointing season where he made just eight appearances since January, Bournemouth has decided to sell him. Leeds need a right-back, and if anyone can maximize Aarons’ potential, it would be Farke.
