Nottingham, June 19, 2024 — Nottingham Forest has confirmed that their star player, John Doe, will not be featuring in the upcoming pre-season match against rivals Derby County due to a recent injury.

The club announced that Doe sustained a muscle strain during a training session earlier this week. Medical evaluations revealed that while the injury is not severe, the decision has been made to rest him as a precautionary measure. This move is aimed at ensuring his full recovery before the start of the new season.

Head coach Steve Cooper expressed his disappointment but emphasized the importance of Doe’s long-term fitness. “It’s unfortunate that John won’t be able to participate in this match, but his health is our priority. We’re confident he’ll be back stronger for the start of the season,” Cooper said.

Nottingham Forest fans, though disappointed, have shown support for Doe, flooding social media with messages of encouragement. The team will be looking to other key players to step up in his absence during the pre-season fixture.

The pre-season match against Derby County is scheduled for June 25th, and it will serve as a crucial test for the squad ahead of the 2024-2025 season.
