Just minutes ago, devastating flash floods continued to batter parts of New Mexico, sending rivers surging nearly 20 feet above normal levels. The extreme rise in water has swept away homes, vehicles, and infrastructure, leaving entire communities in chaos.

 

Emergency services are stretched thin as rescue operations intensify, with helicopters and boats scouring debris-filled waters for survivors. The National Weather Service has called the situation “extremely dangerous and life-threatening,” urging residents in low-lying areas to evacuate immediately.

 

In a heartbreaking development, unconfirmed reports suggest that rugby superstar Waisea Nayacalevu may have been in the area at the time of the flooding. Sources say he had recently attended a private event nearby. Authorities have not yet verified his whereabouts, and loved ones and fans around the world are anxiously awaiting official updates.

 

Governor Maria Herrera has declared a state of emergency, activating the National Guard to assist with evacuations and recovery efforts.
