Even after a year has passed, former Georgia linebacker David Pollack is still engulfed in controversy on the internet because of remarks he made during the Bulldogs’ 2023 national championship game against TCU. Just before Georgia won its second straight championship that evening, Pollack declared on the College Gameday broadcast that the Bulldogs had “taken over college football.”

The video went viral right away, partly due to Pollack’s unwavering declaration and partly due to Alabama head coach Nick Saban’s impassive demeanor while he was seated next to him.

Since then, Saban has won the SEC Championship one last time before retiring, and he most definitely had the last laugh over Georgia fans.

However, Saban announced last week that he will also be joining College Gameday and ESPN for the upcoming season, given that Pollack was among the employees laid off by the corporation in 2023.

After hearing the news, Kristen Saban Setas, Nick Saban’s daughter, reactivated the video to make one final joke about Pollack.

It was the only coaching post about which we did not consistently receive news; nevertheless, on Monday, word leaked out that a former Big 12 assistant was departing from his program to become a member of Kalen DeBoer’s staff at Alabama. Jay Nunez is reportedly leaving Oklahoma to take a position as Alabama’s special teams coordinator, according to Parker Thune of Rivals, who covers the Oklahoma Sooners.

In 2022 and 2023, Nunez worked as a special teams analyst for the Sooners.

Prior to joining the Big 12, he was Eastern Michigan University’s special teams coach, assistant head coach, defensive tackles coach, co-recruiting coordinator, and tight ends coach from 2017 to 2018.
