Jones led the Oklahoma State Cowboys as their bench boss from 1984 to 1994, routinely squaring off against the Oklahoma football program. Jones could believe Stoops doesn’t have the pedigree or talent to feature in the prominent Senior Bowl, or he could still have some remaining ill will against the Oklahoma Sooners. Jones coached at Oklahoma State for eleven seasons but never once beat Oklahoma. He did tie one time in 1992. He has beaten defensive backs in many routes, including double moves, speed cuts, and deep routes.
